Rev. Dr. Essie
Clark-George
Reverend Dr. Essie Clark-George is the PCN Conference 2023 Executive Director and the Executive Director of Praxis Circle Network Ecumenical Ministry which she founded in 2019 after completing one unit of Clinical Pastor Education (CPE) and identifying with her personal pain. Rev. Dr. Clark-George is committed to serving God’s people helping women who have suffered pain from domestic violence, sexual abuse, and breast cancer. Her vision is to help women heal and be free of situations that continue to hold them hostage to pain. She is a retired Pastor and Presiding Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME), Third Episcopal District of the CME Church, Gary IN. She is trained in Geriatrics & Gerontology, Crisis counseling, she holds a master’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling and A Doctor of Ministry Degree in Urban and Rural Revitalization both from McCormick Theological Seminary, trained in Geriatrics & Gerontology through University of Illinois, and Crisis counseling, from Northeastern Illinois University. A Spiritually Gifted Workshop Facilitator where she has participated in “Women’s Conferences” throughout the United States. She authored a book, “They Said It Couldn't Be Done” a book detailing how to build a financial structure and manage finances in the Church. She is the Editor of “Jewels for The Soul” a devotional book written by female clergy in the CME church. She served ten years as a Presiding Elder’s where she supervised fifteen churches in the Third Episcopal District of the CME church and served on the Presiding Elder Council, Chair for Women in Ministry and Connectional Board Member, Joint Board of Finance Member, Trustee Board Member, Dean of Leadership Training School. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a lifetime member of the Chicago Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and other social justice organizations.
Rev. Dr. Essie is a devoted wife, loving mother of two adult children, a doting grandmother of four and great-grandmother of three. She is the matriarch of her family and enjoys the time spent with them fishing and enjoying Sunday country dinners.
